Cuisine of India Sponsors Local Football

Syed has agreed to be a sponsor of the Oadby Owls Tawnys, the Oadby Owls Club under 12 team. His cash donation has paid for the teams much needed track suits, which keep the team warm while also portraying a professional image for the club.

oadby owls under 12sThe Oadby Owls (named after Sheffield Wednesday) is a Charter Standard Football Club and was formed in 1968.  The clubs home ground is at Coombe Park, Coombe Rise, Oadby with the 'John Monks Pavilion', it comprises of 23 teams catering for all ages.

The Tawneys plays in division 2 after winning promtion in a fantastic winning year last year. The team has gone on from strength to strength and so far the lads have won all but two of the league games and stand third in the league.  The team has also got through to the quarter finals of the county cup and the third round of the league cup.

The manager of the team is Lee Hurst and Paul Johnson is co-manager. Mark Lord trains the squad while Kally Singh is the secretary and Andy Lawrence the treasurer.  The squad has access to professional advice from Mark Brady, a professional coach.

oadby owls cup winners 2008The team consists of: Josh Hurst midfield, Sam Ball striker, Ollie Jerome striker, Harry Johnson midfield, Chris Riddick defender, Scott Brady defender, Kyle Lawrence defender and in goal, Tom Holroyd in goal, Matt Cooke midfield, Kyle Ram defender, Kerien Bhatha defender, Dylan Singh striker,  Jack Lord midfield, Harvey Gales striker. The team has also recently signed a Brazilian, Pedro Araujo who is in the UK for a year.
